Contract/Agreement Info

From the navigation menu, select the Song Catalog to display a list of musical works. This list is  sorted by Song Name (ascending order) and Special Handling (ascending order). Use the Search or Advanced Search functions to locate the song that you wish to modify.

 

 

 

 

Select the musical work for editing.

 

 

 

This will display the musical work details screen which allows entry of the musical works details.

 

Type in publishing or administration contract/agreement information at the top section of the screen.

 

 

 

 

Data Entry Tips

 

Contract - select contract type from drop-down list (this list is controlled by Contract Type codes list)

 

Territory - territory covered by contract/agreement (ex: world)

 

Term - term of contract/agreement specified in number of months

 

First Refusal ? - Is the right of first refusal in effect? The default is “N” (no).  If the song has not ever been recorded and released to the public, enter  “Y” (yes) to indicate that the right of first refusal is in effect.

 

Begin Date - begin date of contract/agreement

 

End Date - end date of contract (leave blank)

 

Retention Months – number of retention months after contract is terminated (if indicated in contract/agreement)

 

Retention Date – retention date after contract is terminated (if indicated in contract/agreement)

 

Notes - freeform notes about musical work

 

Special Handling - Leave empty which indicates that the musical work is not restricted for use.  In cases where the song has been reverted back to the copyright owners, this field may be updated to “inactive”. Since the Song Catalog list is sorted by Song Name and Special Handling code, “inactive” songs are sorted to the bottom of the list.

 

 

 

When finished, Save your work.
