Advanced Search

In addition to the Search function which allows a quick search based on a user supplied text string, List View also contains an Advanced Search function that allows the user to specify more complex search parameters involving multiple fields and more restrictive criteria.

The  Advanced Search parameters are customized to each field. For example: If you have a date field, you may select from various search parameters like between, greater than, less than, equal, etc. If you have a text field, you may select from various parameters like contains, equals, starts with, empty, not empty, etc.

To access the Advanced Search panel in List View, click on the wheel in the upper right hand corner of the screen and select Advanced Search from the drop-down list.

Once inside the Advanced Search panel, use the drop-down lists next to each field to specify your search parameters. Then click the  Search button.

This will take you back to the list screen where records meeting the search parameters will be displayed.

The presence of an “X” next to the search box means search parameters are currently controlling the result set on the screen. To remove the search parameters, click on the “X” in the search box at the top of the list screen. This will cancel the search and redisplay the screen with all records.
